CHARACTER EDUCATION THAT WORKS
Managing Emotions is a Skill

Kids today are growing up in a fast-paced, highly connected world—but emotional awareness, character development, and core virtues often get left behind. Without early guidance, children may struggle to manage emotions, build healthy relationships, or navigate tough choices. That's why we created the Little Virtues Character Guide.

NAVIGATE BIG FEELINGS WITH CONFIDENCE
Why Kids Need This Today More than Ever
Without the right tools, kids struggle to manage big feelings. They may cope in ways that don’t serve them—like lashing out, shutting down, or blaming. Soon their confidence is gone and they begin to believe they're a 'bad kid.' But there's good news. By building emotional skills early, kids can strengthen their confidence, protect their self-worth, and develop healthy emotional patterns.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes The Little Virtues character guide special?

1. Includes Virtues + Social-emotional learning
Most curriculums purely focus on emotions, but our guide spans deeper into character development than social-emotional learning (SEL) alone. While emotional regulation is fundamental to mature development, virtues are pivotal in determining an individual’s value system and how they relate to humanity.

2. Shows Real World Context
Our books also help kids learn these lessons on a deeper level. They relate to the characters that give kids a much better context for consequences and how their decisions affect their quality of life. This makes for a much deeper emotional connection instead of just working on arbitrary worksheets.

When should I receive my product?

We are mailing out all orders together by the end of October 2025. We'll send out an email once orders are on their way.

What age is this for?

We have created this guide to best serve children aged 5 to 8; however, educators and parents can easily adapt the content for younger or older audiences. These timeless principles make our curriculum appealing to a wide age range, from 3 to 12 years old. It is designed to meet your needs and can be effectively used with both large and small groups.

Do I need extra supplies?

Yes for the crafts. There are eight craft projects that are included throughout the guide that you'll need to purchase supplies for to complete. Other than that, every digital bonus and worksheets are all included.

Can I get each unit separately?

Not currently. All of the units are included in one manual.

How do I access my bonus materials?

There are QR Codes throughout the guide that you can easily scan with the camera function on your phone that will take you to a PDF or link that you can download.

Can this be used in a formal classroom?

Yes, absolutely. Teachers and educators can easily find classroom resources within the guide such as the virtue posters and punch cards that help kids get involved. Because virtues are timeless principles, everyone can relate to them no matter their background.

How long does it take to complete and is it a one time curriculum?

This is a go at your own pace program. We've found that some educators like to focus on one virtue a week and cycle through. Others like to use the guide as part of their reading time or circle time. There's so many ways to customize this for your needs since each activity is 5-10 min long and can easily be broken up as needed.

How do I return this if I want to?

Simply email info@thelittlevirtues.com to begin the return process within 30 days of purchase.

Do I need the books with the manual?

It is not required but highly recommended. There are book discussion questions within the guide that help relate to the content. If you choose not to purchase the books, then you can just skip those parts and continue on.

Are these religious based?

Virtues are the most inclusive principles in the world. With many diverse belief systems today, teaching virtues allows us to build unity and commonality among our differences. They span all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds, regardless of religious or non-religious beliefs. Although The Little Virtues may contain some spiritual undertones, it’s not about the practices or beliefs of any particular religion and does not include any religious affirming language. It can be catered to both religious and non-religious audiences.

*In the books, Little Faith and Little Charity, it shows a spread of prayer, but focuses on hope.

What does it mean by adult led?

We've found that many well intentional parents and teachers want to teach kids emotional regulation but also struggle with this themselves. (We do too!) This guide is meant to be read together and also includes independent activities for kids as well. In each section, there are pre written scripts for adults to read out loud and lead  discussions. We wanted to make things as easy as possible for busy schedules while also staying true to our mission of helping families and communities deepen their relationships.
